The Edinburgh food tour of the Old & New Town are available 1pm Mon to Sat or 5pm Mon to Thursday and will last 3 to 3.5 hours. On the Edinburgh food tour you will enjoy eating locally sourced Scottish food and drink.
Walking between venues your local guide will talk about the history of the area. At each stop the guide will explain about the food and drink being served. There will be time to chat with fellow travellers as we limit tour party size to eight people.

The food walking tour takes in both the Old and New Town of Edinburgh. Giving you the chance to see and eat in the historical area of Edinburgh but also visit bars and restaurants in the New Town. The New Town was built in late 18th early 19th Century and is where locals go to eat and drink. We will have table reservations at all the stop.
The tastings on Edinburgh food tour will include Scottish Smoked Salmon, Stornoway Black Pudding, Wild Boar sausage, Scottish cheeses, charcuterie and dessert. There will also be the chance to taste haggis neeps & tatties. Drink tastings include Edinburgh raspberry gin, Scottish beer and a Single cask malt whisky. Soft drink alternatives will be available.
All food served are tasting plates, but it is still best to skip lunch before an afternoon tour or no need for dinner after an evening tour.
You will be given audio headsets. This allows you to listen to your guide as you walk between venues at your own pace. Or you can wander off and take photos without missing what is being said.
The Old town part of the food tour walks through the Grassmarket, Victoria street, the Lawnmarket (on the Royal Mile) and Makars Court. While the New town section goes down the Mound, past Princes St Gardens, onto George Street, Queen street and around Charlotte Square finishing at the West End of Princes street.
At the end of this Edinburgh food tour your guide will hand out maps showing the premises visited. The map also has offers/promotions should you wish to return to any of the venues for lunch, dinner or just a drink.
